Privacy policy
Last updated: 8 November 2026. Short version: Kiri keeps your data on your device and does not collect anything about you.
What stays on your device
Your library, reading lists, chapters read, reading sessions and time, ratings, and settings are stored locally in the app. Kiri has no accounts and no servers that receive this data. Uninstalling the app deletes it. You can clear your reading history from the History screen.
What Kiri does not do
- No analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking SDKs.
- No sale or sharing of personal data. We do not receive any.
- No access to contacts, location, camera, microphone or files.
Network requests
- Site configuration. When the app opens (at most once a day, or when you tap refresh) it downloads a public JSON file from
kiri.atulpatare.in. The request carries no account or library information. Like any web server, the host (Vercel) may log standard request data such as IP address and user agent. - Sites you read. The built-in browser loads the manga and novel sites you open, and the app periodically re-opens the pages of series you track to look for new chapters. Those sites receive normal web requests from your device and are governed by their own privacy policies. Cookies and site data are stored in the app's browser and are not sent to us.
- Cover images. Covers are fetched from the site that hosts them and cached on your device.
Permissions
- Internet: to load sites and the configuration file.
- Notifications (optional): to tell you about new chapters. You can decline or turn them off per series or in system settings.
Ad blocking
The optional ad and redirect blocking runs entirely on the device using a bundled list of hosts. Nothing about the pages you visit is reported anywhere.
Children
Kiri does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above will be updated and the new version published on this page.
